Those "Friends" in formal membership of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) are sometimes referred to as "Members". Friends who are not in formal membership but who attend Meetings for Worship or who are otherwise enganged with Quaker activities may be reffered to as "Attenders".

As far as possible, this Area Meeting makes no distinction between Members and Attenders, but there some occasions when this is not possible, mostly for legal reasons.

Becoming a Member, or not, is a personal decision.

In 2021, we revised the process of becoming a member to make it simpler, quicker, and more approachable.
